I was born and raised in Saxony, Germany, which was part
of East Germany until unification. It has been decades
since leaving East Germany, yet I find myself still today
sitting on two chairs combining the differences of my
German and American culture, life experiences, heritage,
and formed behavior. What hasn’t changed are core
beliefs, ethical standards, the love to explore through
science and humanities, and to seek truth in all religions
and regions/cultures of the world, thereby gaining a
greater understanding about my existence and interaction
toward my fellow-men (Mitmenschen).

Kerberos Wealth Service Group focuses on three aspects of financial management: (1) accumulation of financial assets; (2) efficient decumulation during retirement years; and (3) while working toward a desired lifestyle that. Is behaviorally achievable.

1.Accumulation occurs during the working years focusing on financial, tax-efficient asset accumulation, protecting against income limiting life events - disability or loss of life, and tax-efficient financial asset accumulation.

2. Decumulation occurs when major income from a professional activity is no longer desired and the years of retirement create new lifestyle priorities. Considerations for a workable financial strategy during retirement are more complex and challenging than during the accumulation phase. From deciding on how to ease into the retiring years, spending time with family and/or friends, to addressing not outliving your financial resources and possibly leaving financial means for property and charity.

3. In either phase of life, your lifestyle is impacted by the decisions and abilities demonstrated by you in managing your money - individually or collectively - as a resource for what really matters to each one of you.

Why the word Kerberos?

In the process of redefining my marketing strategy a name had to be associated with the business and website register. Not fancying personal name association with a business name, I came across a name that intrigued me due to its complexity in literature, cinematic art, and information technology.

A Netflix series (one season in 2022, unfortunately) called ‘1899’ included many scenes on a ship called Kerberos. It is a steamship commissioned to carry diverse travelers of different cultures and sci-economic backgrounds from London to New York with the prospect of a better life. A dramatic mystery or perhaps sci-fi show, it contains many stories and complexities that come to a surprising ending. Some harsh critics declare ‘1899' in contrast to ‘Dark’ - same creators - as mediocre. What is fascinating is the aspect of how the show was created - cutting-edge technology - and where it was created. It was all done in a famous German film-studio in Babelsberg, only 250 km away from where I grew up.

Secondly, the word Kerberos originates from Greek mythology, which contains the legend of Cerberus. Cerberus (often described as a three-headed hound) guarded the realm of the underworld to prevent the dead from leaving and the living from entering. Ironically, a correlation might be found for the purpose of money not to end up in a place of no return, rather providing means toward a meaningful life and, moreover, not loosing one’s soul over money and ending up in some Underworld.

Thirdly, Kerberos is an authentication protocol enabling systems and users to prove their identity through a trusted third-party. Kerberos was developed for Project Athena at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The three heads of the Kerberos protocol represent the
following:

• Client: The entity seeking to provide its identity (1)

• Application Server (AP): The service that the client or user wants to access (2)

• Key Distribution Center (KDC): A trusted third party that issues tickets (3)

1.

Client (Prospect) - Principal of financial assets with desire and ability to implement.

2.

KWSG - Facilitator of products and knowledge applied within industry rules and regulation compliance.

3.

Third-party services and products - Broker-Dealer, Insurance, Investment, Asset-Manager companies with their own and industry compliant protocols.

Similarly, the business world I find myself in is composed of three interacting (re)sources - the client (investor), the application served by a third party vendor - such as a insurance company, a broker-dealer facilitating investment transactions in the market, or third party asset managers - and myself the distribution center of information, recommendations, and managerial oversight. That interaction implements better oversight by the client, control points for all parties involved, and compliant application of technology.
